This was genuinely funny, and the atmosphere was on point. Great story!

Thank you Silas. I’m glad the humor landed. Sometimes when I’m writing jokes I wonder if they are funny only to me. :P

Ha ha ha... Ha ha ha ha ha ha... Ha ha ha ha ha... Ha ha... Ha...HA!

I honestly don't think there's any way this could have been funnier.

Thank you!

David, I'm here grinning. I worked in sales before. This is grand.

I also showed this to my stepdad and he really enjoyed it. Asked me

To ask you if you read the Mark Twain story where is a lightning salesman?

David T Etheredge's avatar

Oh - I’ll have to read that Mark Twain story and incorporate it into Daily Male. :)

Glad you enjoyed it and I LOVE that you showed it to a real live reader who enjoyed it! :)

Yes, he's a retired philosophy professor

David T Etheredge's avatar

But can you ever really retire from philosophy?

Carol Viana's avatar

One cannot. He’s systematically studying quantum physics these days. He’s a book eating machine.

David T Etheredge's avatar

I love that he enjoyed Daily Male, but I’d really be excited if he was willing to take a look at Inference, which is my attempt at a serious philosophical work. (Thought still with the humor…)

If, as a philosopher, he believes in Karma or Quid Pro Quo, I’d be happy to reciprocate in some way meaningful to him is he does so.

Cheers!

Let's bring him to this conversation. He doesn't use Substack much but hey... worth a try @https://substack.com/@npperitore

I'm blessed to live in the same house as my editor and former graduate school advisor. Yes, I introduced him to mom. They fell in love, I got a dad. And an editor.

Well that was bloody brilliant. Thank you for this!

Thank you Kevin! Glad you enjoyed it.

That's how come he is a lesser demon, lol! Brilliant!

Thank you. It was super fun to write. :)

The one thing I know about torturing class demons in the underburbs is that there's one spawned every minute.

You can tell Chad has been here for a while. I have a feeling if it HAD been boba, he wouldn't have moved forward lmao

David.. the thumbs.. THE THUMBS 😂❤️

David T Etheredge's avatar

I am so glad that joke landed for you. I literally laughed myself unconscious last night after I wrote that - I couldn’t breathe!

This is fantastic, David. Such a different register than Inference. I smiled the entire way through it.

The really funny thing… I do something similar with How to Whack a Demon. Not for several more chapters. Totally different setting but there’s some similarity.

I hope my take on this kind of thing is half as funny.

Thank you! I had so much fun writing it. Especially the Thumble sequence. I can't wait to do the next Issue when I get to introduce Chad's bae and the sales boiler-room.
